SiA,全名Sia Kate Isobelle Furler.生长在澳大利亚.父母均从事音乐工作,"I only owned 2 CDs: a Jackson 5 anthology and Jeff Buckley's Grace."SiA在真正从事音乐之前,她听的音乐真的很少很少.因为在和Zero 7一起巡回演出之后,SiA才非常认真的去听各种不同的音乐作品.

2004年英伦Trip-hop新贵乐团乐队Zero 7藉首张专辑《Simple Things》中一鸣惊人，着迷于Zero 7音乐的同时，乐迷们也被其中一把懒洋洋却又质感十足的女声深深吸引。这把让人惊艳的女声来自年轻的澳大利亚女歌手Sia(Sia Furler ，Sia发音是See-ah)。Sia在Zero 7专辑中的声音听起来有点慵懒，散漫着淡淡的爵士味道，由她献声演绎的“Destiny”和“Distractions”两首曲目成为了专辑的两大亮点。随着Zero 7和《Simple Things》在全球火速窜红，Sia的声音也被越来越多的乐迷所熟知。甚至还有乐评将她的歌声与英国电子民谣天后蒂朵的放在一起比较，形容为“你不能错过的年度最酷的Down-Tempo人声”。
其实Sia早在2001年就推出过一张充满R&B流行气味的处女专辑《Healing Is Difficult》，其中采样了俄国作曲家普罗科菲耶夫芭蕾舞剧《罗密欧与朱丽叶》音乐片段的单曲“Taken For Granted”还打入了排行榜前十位，曾被一些乐评誉为“将要崛起的R&B佳作”。从这些赞誉看来，似乎Sia的乐坛前路将会是一帆风顺的，然而，之后她却沉寂下来了。
男友的去世，把Sia的生命弄得一团糟，脑海里的感觉搅成一块。她用了很长的一段时间疗伤，终于慢慢地从阴影中走了中走了出来，也开始重新思考往后的音乐路向。与Zero 7的合作不仅为Sia带来音乐生涯上的一个重要转折，也对她的音乐重新定位产生了重大影响。Sia回忆道：“在我随着Zero 7巡回演出的旅途上，Zero 7的成员们经常向我谈及很多我从来没有听过的歌手，例如James Taylor、Nick Drake、Harry Nilsson、Randy Newman和Django Bates等等，我发现自己在聆听音乐上的贫乏，于是我买了一部discman开始听这些歌手的作品，这些音乐产生的巨大力量像飓风一样顿时把我吹得晕头转向。”显然，音乐上增加的阅历让Sia确定了她日后的音乐走向。她发现自己最喜爱的还是清新民谣的乐风，所以她在个人的第二张专辑《Colour The Small One》里，决定回归自己在音乐上的本质，重拾自己最喜爱也是最适合她的清新、柔缓民谣曲风，不过她也在一般的清新民谣风格中加入了属于她个人的音乐色彩，一种散发着淡淡忧郁气息的魔力，并将此刻划成带有她个人私密情感印记的音乐标签。
